Many called it a miracle. Others called it impossible.<\/p>\n

Now, Giles Martin<\/strong>, son of legendary Beatles producer George Martin and producer of the track, has officially confirmed<\/strong> what many had suspected: AI technology was used to isolate and restore John Lennon\u2019s voice<\/strong> \u2014 a revelation that has stirred deep emotion and awe across generations of fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s still John,\u201d<\/em> Martin said in a recent interview. \u201cWhat AI gave us was clarity, not imitation. We didn\u2019t generate anything. We recovered what was already there.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Origin of the Track<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seed for \u201cNow And Then\u201d<\/em> was planted in the late 1970s, when John recorded a rough demo of the song in his New York apartment. Years later, Yoko Ono<\/strong> gave that demo to Paul McCartney<\/strong>, along with others that would become \u201cFree As a Bird\u201d<\/em> and \u201cReal Love\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n

While those tracks were completed in the 1990s, \u201cNow And Then\u201d<\/em> was shelved \u2014 the audio quality was simply too poor<\/strong>. John\u2019s voice was buried beneath noise, static, and the uneven quality of a home cassette tape.<\/p>\n

But thanks to new technology developed during Peter Jackson\u2019s \u201cGet Back\u201d<\/em> documentary \u2014 an AI-based system that can separate voice from instrument, noise from clarity<\/strong> \u2014 Lennon\u2019s original vocal was finally isolated and preserved<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
